Palmer J. Langsev

Funeral services for Palmer J. Langsev, 92, of Frost, were held May 17, 2005, at United Lutheran Church, Frost. Burial was in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery of rural Frost. 
 
Palmer J. Langsev died May 12, 2005, at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth, where he had resided since June of 2004.
 
Palmer was born July 14, 1912, the son of Peder and Martha (Torgerson) Langsev in Seely Township. He attended the Homedahl School thru 8th grade. On July 27, 1935, he was mattied to Lila Willmert in rural Blue Earth. They famred in the Bricelyn area until 1940 when they moved to a garm near Frost. In 1975 they retired and moved into Frost. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Frost and served as its financial secretary for many years. He also helped organize the Frost Senior Citizens Center and served on the Frost City Council.
 
He was a member of the Rome Township Board, the Frost Creamery Board, the Rome Township Fire Board, the Farmers Union Coop Oil Company of Winnebago and had served as President of the Faribault County Farmers Union, and had also served as chairman of the Faribault County DFL. Palmer and Lila were selected as Faribault County Outstanding Senior Citizen Couple.
 
Survivors include his wife Lila of St. Luke's in Blue Earth; three children: Elwood "Woody" and his wife Rochelle Langsev of Bricelyn, Audrey and her husband Dan Nelson of Blue Earth and Lawrence and his wife Edith Langsev of Bricelyn, niece Naoma and her husband Ron Krieger of Blue Earth; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by six brothers: Sam, Gustave, Lucas, Arthur, William and Oscar, and six sisters: Hellen, Mattie, Julia, Cora, Mabel and Myrtle.
