Arnold D. Anderson

Funeral services for Arnold Anderson were Tuesday, November 21, at North Blue Earth Lutheran Church, rural Bricelyn. Arnold died Friday, November 17, 2006.
Arnold Dale Anderson was born December 18, 1928, son of James and Gertrude (Samo) Anderson in Estherville, Iowa. He was baptized in Gruver, Iowa and attended country schools in Pilot Grove and later Brush Creek. He attended high school in Bricelyn and Blue Earth.
He farmed the family farm at Brush Creek from 1950 until his retirement in 1990. He was married to Darlene Bachtle July 6, 1952 in Albert Lea. He was involved with horses throughout his lifetime. He raced thoroughbred horses throughout the midwest and Kentucky. He was a licensed horse trainer for many years. He rode his first pony, King, to country school in Pilot Grove. His love of horses remained with him all his life. He had registered quarter horses and Tennessee walkers which he showed at horse shows throughout the United States following his racing career. Arnold had a pilot's license and enjoyed flying his Cherokee Piper to his cabin in Baudette where he enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of rural Bricelyn; daughter, Kathleen Haase of Blue Earth, sons: James (Jean) Anderson of Watertown, D.D., Randy (Pam) Anderson of Frost, Brian (Kristy) Anderson of Frost and Bruce (Becky) Anderson of Blue Earth; also surviving are his brother, Ellis Anderson of Blue Earth, sister-inlaw, Gladys Anderson of Blue Earth, brothers-in-law: Arliss (Maxine) Bachtle of Albert Lea, Gary (Molly) Bachtle of Northwood, Lanny (Joan) Bachtle of Kansas, 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Melvin Anderson, sister-in-law, Grace Anderson, and a great granddaughter, Machael Michelle Steffensmeier.
