Ronald R. "Ronnie" Shure

Funeral services for Ronald "Ronnie" Shure were held Friday, December 14, 2007 at United Lutheran Church in Frost with burial in the church cemetery. Ron died December 11, 2007 at Albert Lea.
 
Ronald Shure was born September 19, 1931 at Albert Lea, the son of Martin and Winnifred (Hoveland) Shure. He was raised in Frost where he was a 1949 graduate of Frost High School.
 
He served on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Frost where he worked for the P. H. Thompson Construction Co., He was married to Sandra Larson on February 2, 1957 in Fairmont. He worked in highway construction for many years until his retirement in 1988.
 
He has been a longtime member of United Lutheran Church in Frost. He had a lifetime passion for horses, especially raising and showing quarter horses.
 
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Shure of Blue Earth, his daughter Vicky (Tim) Nelson of rural Blue Earth, his daughter Ssusan (Terry) Bartels of Milford, Iowa, his son Michael (Holly) Shure of Arlington, his mother, Winnifred "Winnie" Shure of Mankato, his brother Roger (Connie) Shure of Blue Earth, his brother Robert (Lori) Shure of Madison Lake, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Shure.
