Funeral services for Harlen D. Johnson, 75, of Winnebago, formerly of Frost, were held August 21, 2013, at Community Covenant Church, Huntley; burial was at Dell Lutheran Cemetery, Frost. Harlen died August 17, 2013.
Harlen was born November 14, 1937, at Frost, son of Harold and Irene (Egeness) Johnson He was baptized and confirmed at Dell Lutheran Church and graduated from Frost High School in 1955. He served in the U. S. Navy. He married Janice Perrin December 1, 1957, at Lexington Park, Maryland.
For 32 years they lived and raised their family in the Frost area. He worked at Stamper's Poultry Processing in Wells and Streater Industries in Albert Lea for several years. He later worked for the Faribault County Soil & Water Conservation District and later as a Crop Insurance Adjuster. He retired after suffering a stroke in 2005.
Harlen is survived by his wife, Jan Johnson of Winnebago, his sons, Randy (Sallie) Johnson of Dunn, NC, and Tracy (Kelly) Johnson of Huntley; daughters, Robin Howard (Marcia Young) of Edina, Kelly (Brad) Huper of Winnebago, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Terry (Betty Lou) Johnson of Buffalo and Richard (Corinne) Johnson of Frost, and one sister, Lois (Dennis) Hansel of Albert Lea. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infanct brothers and two infant sons, David and Ricky Johnson.
